gimmie gimme want want

Ever have one of those days where all of a sudden everything you've wanted for the past few months comes rushing back to the forefront of your consciousness and you just want.it.NOW.  But then you realize that as pretty and shiny and awesome these things are, and how happy it would make you to have them, well...it's just not in the budget right now. sadface.

Here's a taste of what I have been wanting to get my sticky little hands on...

not necessarily this one, but a dslr

Oh the pictures I could take...

so cute!

I'm falling in the trend and loving maxi dresses and skirts right now.

macbook pro
I love my macbook, but despite replacing the hard drive it's still pretty slow

funny, this bag is 7x more money on the LV site

I don't really know when or why I started wanting this bag.  I'm a big advocate of not being a walking billboard/ad campaign, but for some reason this bag looks so fresh to me.  But then again, I still love my $25 purse..plus, I'd be perfectly happy just buying the knockoff...

That's just a few items on my wishlist.  Hopefully one day I can cross a couple of them off my list!

What's on your wishlist?

of age and underwears

Yah...I'm going there.  Apologies in advance if you are reading this and are of the male persuasion.

Recently, I did a spring clean and purge of my underwear drawer because, well...

  • there is no reason whatsoever why I should still own some of the same pairs that I had in college {we're talking 9 years ago people}
  • you know those pretty, frilly, dare-I-say-it sexy little underthings that incredibly uncomfortable to wear because they're really only meant to be worn for about 10 minutes?  Well, yeah...what are you supposed to wear for the remaining 1430 minutes in a day {yes, I had to break out the calculator for that one}
  • I had waaaay too many pairs
  • and...my ass grew.  Period. End of story.

With my purge my collection grew ever so slightly smaller so I of course had to replenish {nulling and voiding bullet number 3 - I am completely aware of this}, and in my shopping trip I learned something about myself.  When I was in my 20's I was all about the type of underwear that Sisqo made a tribute song for...you know what I'm talking about..I won't sing it for fear of infecting you with an earwig.  I swore that they were comfortable and didn't mind the breeze when wearing a dress or skirt {which I already established that I wear often}.  Besides, something up your butt for hours on end is so totally worth it to save from the risk of VPL right?  Yah...sure

Now that I'm in my thirties I realized I don't like having things up my butt...let me pause here to allow for 'that's what she said' and other jokes of the like..okay, composure re-established.  So yeah, no more thongs for me thank.you.very.much.  Whoever it is that invented the boyshort...well holy hell {hmm oxymoron much} you are a genius!  I never before believed I could wear something that wasn't riding my crack {snicker} without it being obvious that I was wearing anything but a butt flosser.  And the best part is, they are still invisible in my yoga pants!  My ass thanks you, creator of the boyshort.

Then today, while purchasing some more of these fantastic things, I heard the voice of a woman who looked to be in her mid to late-40's ask one of the sales girls while holding up a pair of those 10 minute panties 'Do you have anything sluttier/sexier than these?'  Literally...sluttier or sexier is what she wanted.  Props to her, but um...I'm sensing a regression here.  Is it possible that in 10-15 years or so I will be that lady?  Should I have kept my 10 minute panties - I mean on the off chance that they would actually fit?  Does the life cycle of underwear really go from diapers to full coverage to thongs to something comfortable and cute then back down till you're in diapers again?!

I'm seriously more than a little disturbed by this revelation....I think I need a corner to huddle and rock in.

let's get dressed

I have a confession.

I love dresses.  I love dresses with pockets.  I almost love dresses with pockets more than I love shoes.  Almost.  Hubster finds my obsession with pockets cute.  I mean, even my nightgown has pockets...you know, so I have a place to hold my spare change and lip gloss when I go to bed (duhr).

My newest dress...with pockets!
Umm...by the way, if you are a reader of this blog and work with me...I'm most likely wearing this dress by the time you read this.

At least three out of the five days of the work week you will find me in a dress with pockets.  Partly because they are so cute, but mostly because it takes the guesswork out of having to pair your tops and bottoms cohesively.  Also...pants tend to cover my feet, hence covering the shoes (double duhr).

Today, whilst perusing the interwebs, I discovered a new site that sells dresses to obsess over.  It's called Shabby Apple.  They sell gorgeous dresses to fit specific body types.  It even has this survey of 3 questions to help determine your body type and what would look best on you.  The best part, is that they donate a percentage of their sales to help women in India.  Hmmm...I swear I'm not getting paid for this, I just love what I've seen on their site.  I mean how adorable are these?

why yes, I usually wear this awesome dress when I go on nature hikes and pose infront of trees

I'm so cute...frolicking amongst a bunch of bare trees

Ignore the loaf of bread I'm awkwardly holding near my crotch area and admire my cute dress with pockets

I would totally pair the red stripe top one with a skinny muted yellow belt and open toe slingbacks...or maybe teal!

Since I did just get a new dress (on sale!), I'll have to hold off on purchasing anything new, but I definitely can see myself getting something from this site one day.

Any great online shopping sites that you'd like to share? And do you love dresses with pockets?!

hello internets!

Umm...is this thing on? (taps imaginary microphone in my mind)

Oh, hi there world wide web, nice to meet you and welcome!  A few weeks ago I was reading some of my favorite blogs and impulsively said to myself 'I can want to do this!' and now here I am.

Here I am!  I did say I'm a bit goofy right?

So...you're probably wondering...what's with the name?  Well, in a sentiment that will be repeated multiple times, I'm a bit of a clutz.  At my staggering height (5'2" barefoot), one would think I'd have somewhat good balance considering my low center of gravity.  No.Such.Luck.  On the plus side, I've fallen so many times that I am able to recover swiftly and with such grace that I'm probably up before you even realize I went down...with some exceptions.

And then there's the shoes.  I was once given the nickname by a random classmate 'The Girl with the Cute Shoes'.  I don't remember who you are that said it, but I love you.  Ever since, the nickname kind of stuck (if only in my heart and head) and I felt obliged to continue wearing the cute shoes to live up to the name.  You see, I don't just love shoes...I huge fluffy puffy heart lurve shoes.  When I got engaged, the first thing I did was look for shoes.  I probably had my shoes a good 3 months before I even went dress shopping...and oh boy..they were purdy.

Hello lovelies

You see, for me, pants are hemmed with particular shoes in mind and outfits are planned based on what's going on my feet.  I don't own a pair of Louboutins, Blahniks, or Choos but I can dream.  I love shoes, but I also love not paying more for shoes than I would a car payment.  Plus...the hubster would probably have me committed.  In fact, one time he made me promise that if he bought me two pairs of shoes in one outing that I couldn't buy another pair of shoes for 6 months.  I agreed...and probably made it to about month 4 before admitting defeat.

Ok, enough about shoes.  What's all this blogging about?  You see, other than shoes and my proclivity for falling, I like food and fashion.  So I wanted to create a space to share those passions.  So join me as I make my first foray into the blogging world sharing recipe successes and failures, life's comedic mishaps, general ramblings in my head (and I have a large head), and more.  I'm hoping it will be a fun ride, or at the very least a nice little distraction in the day.
